RM600.00

This tea has been in storage by Purple Cane immediately since its production in 2006. Sourced from the tea plantation of Daxueshan (Big Snowy Mountain) in Mengku, Linchang, Yunnan Province, China.

Every ±400 grams of the broad tea leaves harvested from old arbor tea trees are compressed into shape. The compression, neither too loose nor too compact, facilitates natural ageing.
The tea infusion is mellow, with pronounced aroma and distinct layers of flavour, making it a wonderful brew.

This tea has been chosen as the commemorative tea in conjunction with the celebration of Dharma Teaching by the Reverend Master Ji Cheng, entitled ‘The Way Taken’. It is indeed a Zen offering infused with the blessing of the Dharma and the joy tea has to offer.

Brewing Hints:

Break off a well-sized portion of tea leaves from the tea cake, add to the brewing vessel until 1/4 filled. Pour in freshly boiled water at 95°C and drain the tea infusion immediately. The first brew is not for drinking, the purpose is to unfurl and moisten tea leaves, it helps release the full flavour of tea for a satisfying brew. For the second brew, refill the brewing vessel with freshly boiled water at 95°C, steep for approximately 30 to 40 seconds to extract the full flavour. Pour and serve.
