Statistics from the World Health Organisation shows that close to 8 million people die due to suicide every year, which is one person every 40 seconds.If this tragedy is to be reduced,prevention work at the community level must be implemented more popularly.
In conjunction with the World Suicide Prevention Day in September, YBAM will organise ‘Because I CARE’ YBAM Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Talk, hoping to raise everyone’s awareness and capability to be the gatekeeper of suicide prevention by clarifying misconceptions about suicide, identify suicidal symptoms and behaviours, and provide appropriate response or referrals for people at risk of attempting suicide.
