Day 8 of Study Tour to India – Hyderabad, India

After arriving in Hyderabad, the delegation took a bus to Nagarjuna Hill, one of the sites richest of Buddhist heritage in India. Nagarjuna Hills lies almost entirely beneath the lake formed by the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. With the construction of the dam, the archaeological remains of Mount Nagarjuna were submerged under water and had to be excavated and moved to higher ground, turning it into an island, which is the island the delegation visited by boat. The delegation visited Buddhahamvanam, a Buddhist heritage theme park developed by the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation in the evening.
