Selangor State Unity Ambassador Workshop 2023 | Cosmo Hotel Kuala Lumpur | 23-25.06.2023
YBAM General Secretary Bro. Eow Shiang Yen was invited to attend the 3-day-2-night Selangor State Unity Ambassador Workshop 2023 and completed the Inaugural Ceremony of Selangor State Unity Ambassador (N29 Seri Serdang) during the closing ceremony. This workshop was officiated by the Executive Councillor (EXCO) for Public Health, Unity, Women and Family Empowerment for the Caretaker Government of Selangor State Y.B. Puan Dr Siti Mariah Binti Mahmud and the Policy Advisory Officer of EXCO of Selangor State Unity Development Mrs Nurul Suhadah Shuib during the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony, respectively. Mrs Nurul Suhadah Shuib accompanied by the Co-founder of the Architects of Diversity (AOD) Mr Jason Wee presented the Selangor State Unity Ambassador button badge to 56 ambassadors representing 56 State Legislative Assemblies (DUNs). This content of this workshop participated by youths between 18-35 years and of multi-religious and multi-ethnic background included group discussions, group interactive games, briefing on Selangor Unity Policy, planning and presentation of field projects etc.
The Selangor State Unity Ambassador is a state-level initiative carried out by the Selangor Unity and Integration Council (MPIS) under the Selangor State Government and the AOD, selecting 56 Unity Ambassadors play a role in reducing religious and ethnic tensions in the local community, creating an inclusive environment, and building bridges between background differences through field projects in the 56 DUNs.
